Paper Whispers exhibition

hello everyone

I’am proud to announce my first solo show starting November 24th at the Artoyz shop + galerie in Paris.

This is really exciting and really refreshing, for the first time I will showcase my art and being able to have a live feedback from the watchers.

I can’t wait.

Hope to see you there next month.

Inside the factory

Hi everybody

Today I want to share with you how I make some artworks. Here is a work in progress but with enough steps to understand how I do stuffs.

The basic idea came in the train, I made a rough sketch with a good base and plenty of details. Nobody wants to forget something so I try to place all the details really soon. The other steps shows two research of styles and mediums to express en render the idea.

Creativity & time are two of some components of art. The process of creation comes from the inside not just the brain I guess but from deep inside. Everybody can see & feel things differently, there is a hundred ways to express it. The key represent the capacity to bring our vision to others, when I want I can open the door of my mind and show the wonders of colors and creativity. The skeleton, living dead man is for the time aspect, art is timeless when it will survive his creator. Physically or as a souvenir in the houses or the minds of others.

Hope you will love it.

A little moving extra. DISCO DISCO! A magic GIF! Clic twice on the picture.

Oldies of the week

Hello everyone!

It’s been a while since the last update, I apologize for the lack of updates. I am kind of busy but be patient dear friends and I will not be dissapointed.

So tonight 2 artworks I have done for the one night release event at the Artoyz Galerie in Paris, for the release of the vinyl&co documentary and be the way me first vinyl collectible toy.

I have done this two artworks base on the posters that have dazzled me when I was young, but when I have seen the movie at my young age I was a little scared and fascinated by the cool giants.

To pay hommage to the great Reynold Brown, I made a Tibisho version of the intergalacticly famous attack of the 50ft women, 50ft of greatness and awesomeness, the only thing that could be more awesome is a metal unicorn that could split fire and luchy charms at the same time, which fool could say « no thanks no 50ft lady please ».

And the second one is an hommage the art of Edgar wallace with the coolest monkey EVER! The biggest of the biggest and a real gentleman who decided one day to serve and protect a pretty lady, at all costs. Pure genius!

Thanks for your visits.

I’ll be back soon

Art is inspiration and so much fun

Hello hello,

Whaou! Two posts in a day you must be celebrating guys na?

Here is one of my last piece of work. Almost done in paper, like 98% and 2% of photoshop.

This artwork has been in my mind for a while now. How can I express the cycle of creativity, and the fun of create something with your hands and your brain. If you see the creativity and inspiration as a seed, while you are thinking or making something you put a seed in your mind that will grow and then it’s time to use it and share it with the world. And maybe someone will create a seed by watching your stuffs and it will go on again and again. And also the paper comes from the wood, the wood paper should recreate the wood so we can use it again to create something fun.

Thank you for all the artists that inspire me every day.

Half done yet

Hello everyone!

Just a little artwork to express how much I am bored to listen the not so common but not so rare « come on it only took you 10 minutes…no no! what is your real job not your hobbie ». I am not mad but people need to understand that we do not pretend to have a job. Making stuffs with your hands and your head is a real job. Even when it’s only a half way job it represents a lot of work done.

Best regards!

See ya in few days for more paperkraft.

Johnni Mc Hook

hello everyone!

Update time! Here is a quick illustration I have in mind since a while. Wouldn’t be so awesome to have a sailor world champion ( of the seas ) of boxing? I have imagine this character to make it like a vinyl toy, maybe one day this cool smashed face will be on your desk!

As you can see I have put the all process from the first sketch, really raw on the structure & proportions of the body with some clean line to precise the idea of the face. Then the brush sketch, a part I really do like, make a sketch with a nice Pentel brush pen ( Pentel whenever you want you can send me a box of it with a bunch of different inks ;) And last but not least, ballpen & ink with some shadows. Hope you’ll enjoy johnni boy as much as me.

Thanks

The neo Dandism

hello everyone!

Here is the last « isn’t it funny or what? » self entertainment or you can also say….can I make something fancy and make make fellahs smile. This is our vision of the futur for graphic design, ruled by the most classy guys on earth, a world where if you don’t use de correct shape of mustache, or use the wrong hat you will be directly outfashioned and banned in the land of the common spirits. A world where everything can be possible only if you wear a 3 pieces italian tuxedo with nice, fresh and shiny shoes. A world where the apparence is more important than what you have to say or what you really are. The best world EVER!

Gentlemens, mesdames stay classy and assume the power of the mustache.
